Disappointing spa day – not the relaxing experience we expected

点评：I booked a spa day at Bannatyne Solihull as a birthday treat for my girlfriend, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment.
The biggest issue was that the facilities were nothing like we expected from a spa day. The swimming pool was simply a public lane swimming pool, full of the elderly doing swimming classes and lengths, making it impossible to relax. There was no dedicated poolside relaxation area with loungers or anywhere to sit and unwind between treatments.
Apart from the treatment rooms and a small waiting area upstairs, there was very little that resembled a spa. The overall experience felt much more like visiting a gym than spending the day at a spa.
Had we known beforehand that the “spa” consisted mainly of a busy public swimming pool and treatment rooms, we would have chosen a different venue.
As this was booked for my girlfriend’s birthday, it was upsetting that the day didn’t live up to what we had planned. Instead of leaving feeling relaxed, we left feeling disappointed and are now looking at booking another spa elsewhere to have the experience we originally wanted.
Overall, we felt this location did not deliver the relaxing spa day that was advertised or expected.
The customer complaints team were also useless and defensive. They claimed that expectations are clear online/ on social media. I’m not quite sure how “spa day for 2” matches this appalling experience.
We we would not return to Bannatyne Solihull, and based on the customer service team, we’ll never visit Bannatyne retirement home/ gym ever again.
