点评:I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Bannatyne Fitness Club deserves to be shared.
Last year I developed shingles (herpes zoster), which I can medically document. The illness was extremely serious in the beginning – I had a high fever and afterwards suffered for months with painful skin redness and extreme sensitivity. Anyone who has experienced shingles knows how debilitating it can be.
During this period I tried to freeze my membership while recovering. Instead of showing any empathy or support, the club made the process unnecessarily complicated and repeatedly asked for private and confidential medical documents.
At a time when I was dealing with a painful illness, the complete lack of understanding from Bannatyne was shocking.
After months of frustration I cancelled my Direct Debit. Rather than trying to resolve the situation with a long-term member in a reasonable way, the company escalated the issue and passed it to debt collectors.
The combination of hygiene concerns, poor customer care and the aggressive way this situation was handled is extremely disappointing.
Customers expect gyms to prioritise hygiene and to treat members with basic respect, especially when health issues are involved. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite.
Because of how this situation has been handled, I will not be paying anything further. I also intend to share my experience publicly so other potential members can make an informed decision.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Bannatyne Fitness Club.
