My Travel Experience, Las Lajas Sanctuary

点评：Las Lajas Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful and spiritual places in southern Colombia. It is located in Ipiales, Nariño, near the Guáitara River and the Ecuadorian border. I live about two hours away, so my family and I can visit it almost every year. The sanctuary is famous for its impressive stone architecture and its beautiful location between two mountains. It is such a peaceful place, and the surrounding landscapes are so amazing that visitors will never forget them.
Visitors will find many interesting things to do around the sanctuary. They will walk along the path, where they can enjoy beautiful landscapes, local shops, handmade crafts, souvenirs, and traditional food. They will also see statues of angels and sculptures related to the sanctuary’s history. Travelers can visit the museum, the statue of María Mueses, and the statue of Saint Michael the Archangel. At night, they will admire the sanctuary’s beautiful lights. They can also try traditional foods such as pan de leche and colaciones.
Las Lajas is especially meaningful to me because I have visited it since I was a child. When I was young, my family and I used to visit the sanctuary almost every year. I remember that I always enjoyed taking pictures with the llamas wearing colorful Andean clothes. During those visits, I learned about the story of María Mueses and the miracle of the Virgin of Las Lajas. I have always felt peaceful there, and that is why I would like to continue visiting this special place.
