Man told me I would die repeatedly

点评：DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN he doesn’t know anything about hiking, but feels that he knows a lot
I went to tourist information to see if I could get a map, and a little more information about bears. I’m a qualified Mountain Leader whose profession this is, and I had researched the route I wanted back home, was aware it was considered technically difficult, and comfortable with that.
The man was incredibly condescending and it came off as pretty sexist, something I unfortunately have a lot of experience of in the outdoors: older men assuming that because I’m a woman I can’t possibly read a map or risk assess for myself. He repeatedly told me the trail was too difficult for me and said ‘you’d have to walk mountains 100 times. Year to be able to do this trail’. I do.
He then went on to tell me I would definitely get eaten by a bear and die, citing an incident the year before and having done research on the incident myself since, I now realize the claims he was making were very dramatic and overblown. He repeatedly said YOU WILL DIE
We completed the walk, it was absolutely within our limits as expected. We took sensible advice from elsewhere about the risk of bears and had no problems. But this exchange left a bad taste in the mouth and was a bad welcome to Sinaia. My advice to other travelers wanting to stay safe outdoors would be to follow Salvamont guidance and do research online beforehand, in plenty of time so you don’t feel pressured or panicked

我们顺利完成了徒步，情况如预期那样完全在我们的能力范围内。我们也听取了其他渠道关于熊群风险的合理建议，全程并未遇到任何问题。但这次对话却让我心里很不舒服，也算是来到锡纳亚时的一个糟糕“开端”吧。对于其他希望在户外旅行时确保安全的旅行者，我的建议是遵循Salvamont的指导，并事先在网上做些调查研究。时间充裕，这样你就不会感到有压力或惊慌。
