点评:Attended a performance of Les Miserables, which was awesome, but this is a review of The Benedum. First off, beautiful building. No question, luxurious lighting, ceilings visually stunning.
However, there is ONE elevator. ONE for all people in wheelchairs or any mobility issues. Restrooms are main in the basement so folks have to make their way down from the balconies, wait in long lines, and back up several flights of stairs in 15 minutes.
The prices have also gone through the roof. Not just for Les Mis. $300-$400 per seat on the floor? $100 for balcony 4 rows from the very back? Shameful.
And these seats? I am short, but even my knees were touching the seat in front of me. I absolutely enjoyed the performance but I couldn’t wait to stand and stretch and move my knees again.
I wish these issues could be addressed because a fan of the arts should feel comfy in the theater, have access to facilities, and afford the seats while supporting the artists - and venue too!
