Itami City Museum of Insects的点评
点评：Located inside the Koyaike Park property. This is an insectarium complete with a butterfly conservatory. The admission fee is ¥400 for adults. A bargain considering what you will see.
The butterfly conservatory is amazing. In Hollywood, you have that film clip of hundreds of butterflies flying around your head. You get this at this conservatory. I was watching children hold out their hands, and butterlies would land on their outstretched hands. (against conservatory rules, but how is it the children's fault where the butterflies land) It is warm and humid inside. Just perfect for butterflies to breed. It is a photographer's paradise.
The rest of the facility is just alright. There is a room of the animals and birds that live in Itami City. There is a preserved insect specimen room. The Insectarium for live insects. There is a film room that plays documentaries about insects. The roof has a turret. You can see the lakes, the forest, and civilization. Beautiful scenery.
We went on a national holiday. It was full of families with little children and amateur photographers. It took a good 2 hours to see the whole building.
We were very surprised by how well this relatively small, municipal museum has curated its exhibition. We would want to go again.
