点评：Well worth a visit.
It was open from 2-5pm this year. We got there at 2:30 and contrary to previous reviews there was no queues and we walked straight in.
Parking right outside is always busy at the weekend even without the castle open so it is easier to park elsewhere in town and walk over. Loads of side streets with space on and it’s a nice town.
There is more inside here than we expected. Sadly the top of the Motte was not open this year but you can walk both inside and outside the walls and around the central gardens/bailey which is very pleasant.
They had a brass band playing and cakes & drinks for sale so it was nice to sit in the garden till 5 after we had explored, wished we had bought a rug and a picnic!
Entry was £5 per person. Guidebook was £2 and was interesting to read and worth the money.
