The only thing worth visiting the hovel of Withernsea for.
Withernsea Lighthouse Museum的点评
点评：Never been to Withernsea before in all my years of visiting the Yorkshire coast so thought we would make the extra journey after visiting The Deep in Hull to pop in to the town and see what it was like.
Unfortunately, Withernsea is frequented by rough, uneducated people who don't know how to dress themselves properly, have never visited a dentist and who can't string a cogent sentence together without using strings of expletives.
We drove past the Pier Towers and after a few minutes out of the car and deciding that we didn't want to spend another minute in this dump opted to see what the Lighthouse Museum was as we clocked the sign for it.
We parked in a car park (free) next to the church and across the road from the primary school and walked the few metres to the Lighthouse.
We were met with friendly greetings and lots of help and information for our visit.
It cost about £20 for a family of 4.
The museum contained many interesting exhibits and told of the long gone glory days of Withernsea as a resort hotspot back in the day. Such a tragedy that Withernsea has decayed so markedly in the subsequent years, like many of England's once grand resorts sadly have succumbed to.
The climb to lighthouse top is not for the fainthearted or for those with vertigo but well worth it.
Interesting additional exhibition of film actress Kay Kendall too and her life (she was from Withernsea). A bit before my time but I can remember seeing some of her old films.
All in all I am glad we made the journey to Withernsea, if not for the place itself but for the museum and lighthouse and we won't be returning to this forgotten, barren area again.
There are basic toilet facilities here and a nice little cafe at the back and small garden.

博物馆里有很多有趣的展品，讲述了威瑟恩西昔日作为度假胜地的辉煌岁月。可惜的是，威瑟恩西在随后的几年里明显衰落了，就像英国许多曾经辉煌的度假胜地一样，令人惋惜。
攀登灯塔顶峰并不适合胆小的人或恐高症患者，但绝对值得。
还有一个关于电影女演员凯·肯德尔及其生平的有趣展览（她来自威瑟恩西）。虽然她上映的时间比我早一些，但我记得看过她的一些老电影。
总而言之，我很庆幸我们去了威瑟恩西，即使不是为了这个地方本身，也是为了参观博物馆和灯塔。我们以后不会再回到这个被遗忘的荒凉之地了。
