点评:The genocide memorial starts with a brief film that sets the mood for the rest of the tour. We used the audio guide, which I highly recommend, at least for English speakers. There were many exhibits you could follow along with audio guide. The English text on the exhibits was very small and it was the last translation, meaning it was often close to the floor. While the audio guide had different content, it was much easier for our group to follow the guide than the text on the exhibits. The exhibits discussed the extensive history that lead to the genocide as well as how the local and international communities responded. They honor victims by sharing personal stories and photos, as well as skeletal remains and personal belongings in what for me was the most somber part of the museum. Displays about other genocides paid great respect to humanity. The area around the graves promoted appropriate quiet for reflection; although I was surprised some of the gardens appeared poorly cared for (perhaps because of the season).
