点评:We visited here in belief that its now a sanctuary for rehabilitated crocodiles, that is far from the truth.
The long lake in which there are atleast 30+ fully grown saltwater crocs living is way too small and crowded. They are competing for a place to be. One croc in particular had lived there for half of his lifetime (he was 60) which seems very distressing for a wild animal, the tour guide told us they are living in 'captivity mode' a life in prison for human entertainment? Seems abhorrent in 2026. Why can't we just give them the space & room they need to live the rest of their lives in peace?
The tour guide was agitating these crocs on purpose, teasing them with chunks of meat to make them snap and hit their faces on the fences. Quite a number of the crocs had visible bleeding wounds to their mouths which was very distressing to see and this is not normal behaviour for these ancient creatures, like we were told it was by the (awful) guide. The meat could have been given without this happening, when confronted, the guide simply said 'there's no need for bandaids' making a total joke out of the situation while he jabbed a stick into the crocs neck & soft tissue areas, whilst telling us that it hurts them and they strongly dislike it. Wtf?
Not only crocs being exploited here, we were also shocked to find a lot of native birds in distress too- amongst them were a male & female endangered red-tailed black cockatoos who both looked severly depressed, the cage was not big enough for them to take flight. No living trees inside or any plants. It was only around 15ft high no bigger than a garage. One of them climbed up the door with his beak whilst crying out to us. This is heartbreaking, these animals are sentient and are so intelligent, why are they in there? Nobody paid any attention to them.
I'm so devasted seeing all of this abuse on wildlife that is endemic to parts of Australia.
I think they all should be rehomed to a REAL sanctuary, with more space and other native birds, they are used to being in flocks.
There was also pink cockatoos, sulphur crested cockatoos and emus. All obviously really unhappy in tiny cages.
Someone needs to step in and stop this.
Parks and Wildlife will be firmly contacted.
Malcolm Douglas Park should be shut down, they are profiting from animal neglect and abuse. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.
