I have ridden in a few amazing places, but this 15-day Ladakh – Land of the High Passes tour with Wild Tracks Nepal was simply outstanding. If you're looking for the ultimate Himalayan motorcycle adventure, I can't recommend this trip highly enough.
The itinerary was perfectly planned, taking us over 12 incredible high mountain passes, including the legendary Umling La (5,800m), Khardung La, Tanglang La, and Chang La. Every day offered something different—from the spectacular Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake to ancient monasteries, Aryan Valley, Kargil, and the unforgettable houseboats on Dal Lake in Srinagar.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was the perfect motorcycle for this terrain. The support vehicle, mechanic, accommodation, and logistics were all first class, allowing us to focus on enjoying one of the most breathtaking rides in the world.
A special thank you goes to Sherap Sherpa, who was the heart of the trip. Sherap's local knowledge, calm leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for every rider made the experience exceptional. Whether it was sharing local culture, or simply making sure everyone was safe and having fun, Sherap went above and beyond every single day. He wasn't just a guide—he became a friend.
The scenery throughout Ladakh is beyond words. Every corner reveals another incredible mountain range, winding road, crystal-clear lake, or remote village. Photos simply don't do it justice—you have to experience it yourself.
If you're considering a Himalayan motorcycle tour, don't hesitate. Wild Tracks Nepal delivers an adventure that is professionally organised, safe, challenging, and absolutely unforgettable.
