Some truly beautiful 19th century paintings of the sea and shore around Trouville. But unwelcoming entry to grounds
Musée Villa Montebello的点评
点评:First impressions count and the initial impression was unimpressive: Unwelcoming entrance to the grounds - I drove in but car park (about 7 places) was already full. A groundsman shook his finger at me and pulled a chain across the path in front of my car. So I had to make a difficult five-point turn in the narrow path (rather than circling round the back of the building via the path which would have been perfectly possible) before exiting the site and parking further up the road. The entrance to the museum is, once you have found it, hidden at the back of the building. The steps up to the building were closed off for some reason, so a longer walk up and around the steep path was necessary. Once in the museum, a quick visit to the toilet unimpressive - a hinge of the plastic toilet seat was broken so the seat was flapping loose.
The initial impression was made up for by the beauty of the paintings of the current special exhibition. Some truly beautiful 19th century paintings of the sea and shore around Trouville most notably by Charles Mozin. Upstairs, interesting small exhibitions of tourist posters advertising Trouville and the evolution of bathing costumes.
