点评:Machu Picchu is basically an incredibly, incredibly beautiful place, and it’s on the World Heritage list. Honestly, if you go to Peru, this is something you absolutely have to see. I can’t really add anything new in this review, because everyone has already written everything about it before.
I’m mainly doing this because there’s a photo here of a little llama—a five-month-old baby llama. I thought others should see it too, because when you’re walking around Machu Picchu, you might even be able to pet them, and they’re extremely cute.
At Machu Picchu there are various trails—number one, two, three—everyone can choose the one that matches their physical condition. We were on trail number two, and occasionally you could briefly step onto another trail. Basically, there are security guards everywhere to make sure you’re going in the right direction. You should take your time—no one should rush.
I think the best option is to buy a ticket for around 11 a.m. or noon, because that way you can get up to Machu Picchu calmly, look around at your own pace—the ticket is valid for about one to two hours—and then still make it back before it gets dark, and continue walking around down in the town.
Of course, some people buy tickets specifically to see the sunrise or the sunset at Machu Picchu. All of these are great experiences. I spent one day at Machu Picchu. If I went to Peru again, or if I could choose again, I would definitely stay at least two nights in the small town near Machu Picchu and buy a ticket that lets me go up twice. The reason is that we were lucky—we had sunshine up at Machu Picchu—but it can easily happen that it rains, or that the sun doesn’t come out. So in hindsight, I would play it safe, even though once again I was lucky.
I wish everyone good luck—this is something you must see. You shouldn’t leave Peru without it, so you definitely need to invest the time, energy, and money to visit Machu Picchu.
