Yes, lizards roam around the outside area, it doesn't take much to avoid standing on them. And no, the reptiles aren't just passed round like toys. Two experienced staff outside told us about each named reptile. Remembering that these creatures are rescued from places who haven't looked after them, mistreated or rejected them.
Today, we have handled two snakes, a bearded dragon and Salvador, a Tegu.
These beautiful reptiles chilled whilst we held them, with the bearded dragon perching on my chest upto my shoulder for around 10 minutes. We saw 4 staff in total, two who prepped the foods for all the fish and reptiles and two outside.
Yes, it is a small venue, don't expect 140 aquarium tanks like the other place (advertised 10km up the road) but be prepared to see fishes, eels, rays, terepins and a huge blind turtle who cannot return to the wild, as she can't find her own food.
We will return before we go home.
