Puffins and Stuff on The Isle of May

点评：As part of our tour of Scotland, we took a memorable boat trip to the Isle of May to see puffins and other bird life. The ride out itself was such a fun part of the experience. My wife wanted to sit right up front outside on the RIB (rigid inflatable boat), bundled up with jackets and scarves. It was a bit chilly but honestly added to the fun.
Our guide, Scott really made it special. He was upbeat and clearly loved what he was doing, and that energy carried through the whole tour. He pointed out so much information about the various species that make the Isle of May their home. The annual breeding habits of the puffins was especially amazing to us.
Seeing the puffins and other bird life up close was great, but what we didn’t expect was the time we had on our own after the guided tour. The views were just spectacular. We found a spot near the cliffs and watched the birds in their natural environment. That ended up being one of the best parts of the whole experience.
If you do this tour please stay on the paths. This protects the new puffin homes and the chicks or pufflings as they are called. Overall, just a really unique experience and something I’d recommend if you’re in the area.
