Absolutely Terrible False Advertisement
Coudersport Ice Mine的点评
点评：I honestly don't understand how this is marketed as an "Ice Mine." Based on the advertising, I expected to visit an actual mine—something you could walk into, explore, or at least experience in some meaningful way. Instead, after paying $5 per person, we got a brief five-minute history lesson and were shown what amounts to a hole in the ground with some ice at the bottom.
That's the entire attraction.
There is no mine to enter, no tunnels to explore, no climbing, no traversing, and nothing resembling the experience the advertising implies. The biggest attraction on the property is honestly the gift shop.
Had this been advertised as a historical roadside stop with a natural ice formation, I probably wouldn't have been disappointed. But calling it an "Ice Mine" creates expectations that simply aren't met.
The admission fee wasn't the issue -- it was feeling misled. We drove out of our way expecting a unique attraction and instead spent just a few minutes looking into a hole before leaving. It was one of the most underwhelming tourist attractions I've visited.
If you're expecting to tour a mine, you'll leave disappointed. Save your time and money unless all you're looking for is a quick history lesson and a view of an ice-filled pit.
