点评:Popped into the Nest cafe with my children after a walk along the nearby beach, at around 1:30pm. Cafe wasn’t busy, only two tables occupied. Two members of staff serving, but I use serve in the loosest possible terms.
Guy in front of me in the queue of three people (including me!) got annoyed at waiting, turned to me and said that he wasn’t waiting any longer-we’d been stood there for a good 15 minutes. I stuck it out, after all I had three children who were pretty hungry by now.
Asked if there was any soup, guy in chefs whites turned to look at the soup pot bubbling away on the stove, shrugged and said no. I then asked if I could order a cheese panini. He gave me a blank look, then said “we’ve stopped taking hot food orders” Fair enough, although maybe a wee sign saying that would be an idea given that the service was snails pace and I’d waited for ages for nothing.
Gathered up my kids, and we left. Near the exit however there was a chalkboard with the opening days and times of the cafe. Said last hot food orders were 3pm, and it had just gone 2pm. Popped back in to ask if the board was correct, and I was met with aggression from Mr Charm personified aka Ben. He barked at me that they were short staffed, pointed at the female member of staff and said “she’s a customer, doesn’t even work here and she’s helping. And he (pointing into the kitchen) hasn’t even had his break yet” then walked off.
So, short staffed AND short tempered it would appear. No way to speak to anyone, and they let customers in to help?! What about food hygiene certificates? Speaking of which, there was little hygiene standards on display. No hair nets, beard snoods, and I watched a member of staff waltz into the kitchen after presumably finishing his break, tying on his apron and getting set about foodstuff. No hand washing, nothing. Gross.
We won’t be back. And it’s such a shame because we used to love nipping in for coffee after a walk but it’s obvious standards have slipped massively and I couldn’t recommend a visit here.

我们不会回来。这太可惜了,因为我们过去喜欢散步后喝杯咖啡,但显然标准已经大幅下降,我不推荐来这里。
