点评：An unforgettable fortnight – first week ABC Charter with Nisos Sailing and a second week at Villa Nisos (July 2026)
Where do I even begin? From start to finish, our 7-night ABC Charter aboard Seren with Nisos Sailing in Lefkada was simply outstanding. We are a family of five, plus our great friend Jo, and this was our first time skippering ourselves in foreign waters. Thanks to the incredible team at Nisos and ABC Charter, it exceeded every expectation and gave us memories we'll treasure forever.
Our route
* • Night 1: Nidri to Vathi, Meganisi
* • Night 2: Fiskardo, Kefalonia (our first long-line mooring!)
* • Night 3: Lunch at anchor off Arkoudi Island before another long-line mooring in Kastos
* • Night 4: A morning swim off the beautiful northeast coast of Kastos, another swim stop at Episkopi on Kalamos, before a stern-to berth in Abelike, Meganisi
* • Night 5: The weather brought us into Kalamos early, where we enjoyed a magical halcyon day at Agrapidia Beach, watching our girls run along the jetty and endlessly jump into the crystal-clear water
* • Night 6: Sivota after stopping to explore Spartochori
* • Night 7: Spartochori, Meganisi for our final night before returning to Nidri to disembark at 9am
Every stop was different, and every day brought a new adventure.
The communication from the moment we booked until we reluctantly stepped off the boat was exceptional. Every detail had been thought through, and every member of the team genuinely cared that we had the best possible holiday.
A huge thank you to everyone we met, especially Rowan, Kate, Meg, Alan, Dylan and Nico. Every one of you played a part in making this such a special experience.
The yacht, Seren, was beautifully equipped and the perfect size for us. Jo and I have spent plenty of time sailing with friends, usually as crew or first mate, but this was our first experience taking responsibility as skippers ourselves. My husband, Wayne, has done a fair bit of dinghy sailing over the years and also has his Day Skipper theory. Together with our three daughters, aged 15, 11 and 8, we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to ABC abroad.
Meg and Alan, our lead skippers, were absolutely fantastic. They struck the perfect balance between teaching, encouraging and reassuring us without ever taking over. On the very first evening they calmly talked us through our first stern-to mooring. There were definitely some nerves, but they guided us with patience, humour and confidence until we nailed it.
The following evening we faced another first—long-lining. Again, Alan was there in the tender helping to guide us in, while Meg even hopped aboard briefly. Instead of simply doing it for us, they coached me through every step, giving just enough support while allowing me to complete the manoeuvre myself. That made all the difference. Their calm guidance gave us the confidence to keep trying, and each day we grew more capable.
By the final evening we were happily going bow-to in Meganisi, with only the friendly taverna owner helping catch our lines! Looking back over the week, we honestly felt incredibly proud of everything we'd achieved. There were definitely a few tears of joy as we realised just how far we'd come in only seven days.
Throughout the week we experienced every point of sail, including goose-winging on one particularly memorable passage. The daily weather briefings and passage planning were excellent. The support from the team always made us feel safe while still allowing us to learn, grow and develop our own confidence. No two days were ever the same.
Back on land, Dylan was equally brilliant. Before we even reached Villa Nisos he had introduced himself, and when we next saw him he arrived armed with printed maps, supermarket recommendations and restaurant suggestions. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The whole Nisos team genuinely wanted everything to run smoothly.
The organisation either side of the charter was equally impressive. The hotel stay before boarding, the seamless transfer to the marina, the taxi arrangements, provisioning delivered directly to the boat, and then our transfer to Villa Nisos afterwards all ran like clockwork. Having chartered with other yacht companies in the Mediterranean before, we can honestly say this level of service stood out.

WOW! The views from Villa Nisos genuinely brought a tear to my eye every single day. My Dad flew out to join us making it even more special.
The villa itself is beautifully equipped, extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was the perfect size, and the layout worked brilliantly. There were lovely shaded spots to escape the midday sun with a good book, as well as fantastic spaces where we could all come together to enjoy meals overlooking those breathtaking views.
There are so many wonderful places in the world still waiting to be explored, but this is somewhere I would happily return to in a heartbeat.

* • A trip to Karya to visit the village and The Crazy Goat

* • And, without question, don't miss a day at Agrapidia Beach on Kalamos—it was one of the highlights of our week. A chilled out quiet day with lovely taverna.
I could honestly write pages about this holiday. If anyone is considering sailing with Nisos or an ABC Charter and has any questions, I'd be more than happy to chat about our experience.
The biggest compliment of all? All three of our daughters have caught the sailing bug.
The younger two are already talking about being much more hands-on next time as they get older, and our eldest is determined to complete her Competent Crew course next year. They've even started dreaming about one day sailing an even bigger yacht—which is certainly giving them plenty of motivation to work hard at school and chase their dreams!
