A great visit, but a bit expensive for a family of 5.
Tonto Natural Bridge State Park的点评
点评:We stopped in here to see the natural bridge and walk around a bit. We did not realize that many people like to make a full day out of the park with hikes and trails, which explains why it was $10 per adult and $5 per child 13 and under. They take cards, but you have to park and go inside to the gift shop to pay. We got a map and saw that there were a number of trails. We were there about 3 pm, so we knew we needed to go right to the bridge itself and do the trails around there. We saw the top view and then took the trail down to the viewing platform at the creek. It is definitely worth the walk down and the climb back up, but it is not an easy climb back out. There are a few benches and resting areas and you should feel free to stop and use them as you need to as it is a steep trail. When down in the bridge opening, there is a trail through it, but it is also not an easy walking trail. It is a rock scrambling trail, so be careful. Also, the water dripping from the top of the bridge can be redirected by the wind to shower you on the trail, so be ready for that. We saw a young woman in front of us ask for someone to take her expensive camera and then she wiped out right after that. Since it was winter, we did not have a big crowd, but I could see that being an issue in the summer. The park was peaceful since it wasn't filled with people setting up barbecues and picnics in the winter, but I could easily see the place becoming quite a zoo when it warms up.
