点评:Pam was a wonderful host for our walk. Her knowledge of events and characters involved in the Haight of the late 60’s and beyond to the communes, was intimate and detailed drawing on personal experience and family history. We were shown many of the landmark properties of the time including amongst others properties that included the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin in addition to areas of the Haight containing the Free clinics and feeding stations that helped feed the kids that flocked to the Haight as the outreach of “Sargent peppers lonely hearts club band.” In addition, Pam has her own room dedicated to the posters and books of this era, where we discussed subjects such as the Vietnam war and conscription, the fashion of the Haight, the diggers and other subjects relating to the times. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Pam, she is very knowledgeable and passionate about her subject and her connection to the times.
