5 Star PADI Diving in Malaysia

点评：This review is long overdue but better late than never as they say. My wife, son and I spent a week on Greater Perhentian Island in early March of this year before heading to Vietnam. I've been a certified open water diver since 2012 but it had been long enough that I knew I needed a refresher course before diving again. As luck would have it, Universal Diver was located right next door to our hotel! I stopped by on our first day on the island and met Dee and Jay and to see if it was possible for me to take a refresher course and fit in some dives after. They were both more than welcoming and accommodating and even though it was very early in the season (I had the honor of being the first of the 2026 season!), set me up with a refresher course the next morning.
Dee was my divemaster and I couldn't have asked for a nicer, knowledgeable or more patient instructor. The refresher tasks and hand signals were reviewed before getting in the water and I was able to pass and get comfortable in the water again. We dove several sites over the next few days and each time she made me feel comfortable and explain all the marine life we should keep an eye out for as well as the overall dive plan.
Universal Diver also supplied all the equipment (BCD, mask, fins, etc) I needed which was nice since I hadn't originally planned to dive on this trip. A nice plus.
Since it was very early in the season, the visibility on one day wasn't ideal but we made the best of it and Dee helped make the most of the few days I had to dive. I can know add Malaysia and the South China Sea to the list of places I've had the opportunity to dive and enjoy.
So a big, big thank you to Dee, Jay and all the staff at Universal Diver! You helped make my trip special. If you're looking for a PADI 5 Star dive shop in Malaysia, look no further than Universal Diver.
