Ohh Nikki …. What happened?

点评：I am really not sure what happened to the Nikki Beach Miami that we previously enjoyed.
Upon arrival for lunch I was surprised to find the car park was empty but soon realised the reason why.
The management have foolishly decided that guests want to enjoy lunch still have to pay $20 to park a car.
Now I actually understand why they need to avoid having beach goers use the car park without a purchase in the Beach Club, but surely this charge ( or some of it could be offset against a restaurant bill to those dining. Anyway we parked in the car park next door for a few $ and walked past the empty NB parking.
Now upon arrival we were pleased to see the venue had been updated / refurbished in areas with nice comfortable loungers and dining tables. Although the raised lounge beds carry a hefty minimum spend, no wonder they were empty.
In fairness we enjoyed lunch , service was friendly and we quickly passed a couple of hours in the sun.
This Nikki Beach is not like others around the world , it had no pool although there is plenty of space where they could install one.
These days it is more of a beach cafe than a club, it closes early so there is not an evening option. Maybe the high end neighbours objected to the noise, but hey NB was there way before most of them.
This NB used to be so much better and is now the poor relation to its better siblings.
The place was empty when we were there , I wonder how long it will survive?
