点评：There is more potential for this Wildlife Loop Bicycling Tour at Custer State Park. Kevin and Melina do a fine job but more attention to their customers’ preferences for bicycling would make this experience great.
Kevin is knowledgeable, full of South Dakota info. The bagel sandwiches provided were first rate. They certainly have an environment for memorable bike rides. If more attention can be paid in the weeks before to understand what the customers want from the ride, this price tag would be more worth it.
We are in our mid - fifties and use REAL bicycles to ride between fifteen and 25 mile rides of manageable inclines. I thought I had explained that through an exchange of e mails. Our guide, though, was not listening to us when we said that we saw the wildlife loop road and it had steep, sharp turns with no shoulder. Our guide insisted none of that mattered. He refused to admit to a headwind as well. There was little effort to adjust the plan.
Eventually our guide shared the truth with us. “Most people use e bikes and put it on turbo or sporty.”
He knew we pedaled on REAL bikes. In the future, customers should be told that, on some tours, e bikes are the way to go or else change the ride location. To his credit, our guide was patient while we pedaled or got off to walk the bikes up some inclines.
We learned a lot about the land from Kevin but the drive back to our hotel became tedious including a half an hour just driving around Rapid City.
There were considerably fewer animals around in 25 compared to my last visit here in 2014.
