Gorgeous Views and More Challenging Hike

点评：Horsethief Canyon is a bit more of a challenging hike than the Horseshoe canyon because it is steep. It is a very nice area and it was very cool to see the sediment layers contrast against the blue sky. There is a free parking area, signage and a lookout that is easy to get to. We would recommend to watch your footing if you are visiting the lookout because there are gopher holes and it would be easy to sprain an ankle.
We spent about 10 minutes here looking out but you can plan to spend a couple of hours here if you are planning to hike around. We visited this area after a morning visit to the Royal Tyrell Museum. There are a few attractions in this area that sits to the northwest of Drumheller including the Little Church, Bleriot Ferry, Orkney Viewpoint and the Badlands Interpretive Trail. We spent about three hours in the museum and around two hours checking out everything else before returning to the Downtown area of Drumheller.
