点评:The Bleriot Ferry is free to use and frequently crosses the Red Deer River. When we visited it was not busy and we spent about five minutes to board and cross the river both ways. The Bleriot Ferry dates back to 1913 and is a part of the North Dinosaur trail in the Drumheller Valley. The Bleriot Ferry crossing leads to Orkney Viewpoint which is a breathtaking viewpoint where you can see the entire valley area. The highway had road closure signs when we visited in July but the viewpoint was still accessible. It is important to note that the road getting to/from the ferry is steep and winding and the ferry itself is only open in the warmer months.
We visited this area after a morning visit to the Royal Tyrell Museum. There are a few attractions in this area that sits to the northwest of Drumheller including the Little Church, Horsethief Canyon, Orkney Viewpoint and the Badlands Interpretive Trail. We spent about three hours in the museum and around two hours checking out everything else before returning to the Downtown area of Drumheller. The last wooden ferry used for the crossing can be seen on the line of the Homestead Antiques Museum which we drove by as we went to this area.
