点评:Walking up Collins St. recently we walked past the ANZ Bank Museum on the corner and I recalled a friend that used to work there in the 1970s when it was a working bank.
It sure is a majestic building from the days of booming Melbourne in the gold rush era.
We went in and were very impressed with the renovation job the bank have done . Entry is free but photos and video not allowed.
There are a lot of displays to look at which help you to discover the history of the building and its significance in today’s city of Melbourne.
Very interesting to learn about the architect and the manager of the bank at the time, by all accounts the manager was very extravagant and had a lot to say about how the building would look and it was also his home upstairs, I bet that was very posh.
We are lucky to have a lovely iconic landmark and we can thank all involved in the original build and the new renovation. It was a very enjoyable visit.
