What a beautiful park!
McCarthy Beach State Park的点评
点评：This is a hidden gem of the Minnesota State Park system! The beach on Sturgeon Lake is sandy and shallow- perfect for young children and adults. We noticed a lot of grandparents with kids, and I think the beach is the reason.
Great fishing as well. There are boats for rent at the ranger station (canoes, rowboats, kayaks and paddleboards) and free fishing pole rentals! Apparently there are lots of northern pike in the lake. We didn't catch any, but another friendly fisherman shared some of his catch with us after seeing our kids disappointment in not catching anything. Yes, there were mosquitoes, but not as many as in other northern MN parks we've been to.
Since we camped during the week, not the weekend, we were able to get a site near the lake- it was a really magical spot, Definitely on the list of places to visit again.
