点评:My friends and I were new to rafting and we chose the Lower Gauley tour in the Fall. The ACE employees were nice and helped everyone get into rental gear which is good because the water can get cold. It took about 45 minutes to bus to the load out point. We matched up with others to make a boat of eight and met our tour guide, James. James was a really cool guy, really chill, he knew his stuff and told us stories about the different rapids and what life was like as a raft guide. He showed us how to surf a hydraulic and we went through the rapids without capsizing. We were the last boat in the group and we picked up other people from a raft ahead of us that capsized.
I expected a cold sad sandwich but lunch was actually really good. The guides brought pulled pork, burger buns, hot dogs, cole slaw, macaroni salad, broccoli, and brownies. It was a delicious spread.
Getting back was a little sad, again 45 minutes and less happy because we were all cold and wet (but not really avoidable). We got there around 9:30am and we left around 4:30pm after returning our rental gear and changing everything.
