Don’t miss the beautiful scenic drive with great photo opportunities

点评：A very short drive from the centre of Banff takes you out to the Lake Minnewanka Loop a really easy drive with good roads, well signposted and few crowds. We went on 14Sep26 a largely overcast day and were able to park in all the car parks without issue. If mobility is an issue, all car parks are right by the lakes. We had short walks at each. Starting at Lake Minnewanka it’s a c. 3km easy trail to Stewart Canyon where there’s a bridge over the Cascade River. Coffee shop and flushing toilets in the car parks. Short drive over the top of the dam to Two Jack Lake where there aren’t any obvious trails. Then on to Johnson Lake - you can walk around the lake c. 3.5km. A good trail, steep in places and worth doing if you have time. Then to Cascade Ponds - fantastic photo opportunities here with amazing reflections in the ponds. This place seems to be a very popular picnic area and can imagine it being very busy in summer but hardly anyone there on our visit. It would be a great place to take kids - plenty of grass to run around on and seems quite a safe place (no steep drops or overly deep water)
