Fun times and great memories at Abbeyfield Farm

点评：We were in Ireland for a large family wedding at the Carton House in Maymooth and, fairly last minute, decided to organize an outing to Abbeyfield Farm for horseback riding, archery and clay pigeon shooting. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a group of about 45 people, ranging in age from 13 to their 70s, and I cannot say enough about how accommodating and flexible the staff at Abbeyfield Farm were. I kept adding people to our group, and instead of making it difficult, they simply worked with us, adding sessions and adjusting the schedule so that everyone who wanted to participate could. Their communication throughout the planning process was fantastic.
The horseback riding was especially impressive because our group had an enormous range of experience. Some were very experienced riders, while others had never been on a horse before. The staff managed to make the hour-long ride enjoyable for everyone.
One member of our group was a young person with an intellectual disability, and the way the staff worked with him was particularly special. They quickly recognized what he needed to feel comfortable and successful and treated him with such kindness, patience and warmth. It meant a great deal to our family, and he had a wonderful experience.
After horseback riding, we did about an hour of archery followed by more than an hour of clay pigeon shooting. Both were so much fun. The staff were generous with their time, gave everyone plenty of opportunities to shoot, provided great instruction and turned it into a fun, friendly competition. Even people who had never tried archery or clay pigeon shooting before were able to participate and enjoy themselves.
Those who did all three activities spent more than three hours at Abbeyfield Farm, so it felt like a substantial experience rather than a quick tourist activity. Considering the amount of time, attention and energy the staff devoted to our large group, we also thought the price was very reasonable.
If you're looking for horseback riding, clay pigeon shooting or archery in Ireland — especially for a family outing, wedding group, multigenerational group or large group activity — I would highly recommend Abbeyfield Farm. It worked equally well for teenagers, adults and grandparents, and for complete beginners as well as people with experience.
Organizing an activity for 45 people while traveling could easily have been stressful. Abbeyfield Farm made it easy, welcoming and genuinely fun. We left with a lot of great memories and would absolutely recommend it to other families and groups visiting Ireland.
