点评:Little Shop of Horrors was the most fun I've had at a theater in ages! The on-stage talent nailed every character (Audrey was steller; send her to Broadway! And Seymour was the perfect stereotype! Orin was spot-in), they knocked the songs out of the park ... entertained, entertained, entertained! Stage design, choreography, costumes, the effects from the puppet plant to characters being swallowed whole.... everything made it just an exceptional production of this crazy comedy.
But what this production does that should change the course of this musical forever is the plant, Audrey II. When that puppet grew to a larger mass of pink and green and started talking, all was still pretty much expected. Then it turned to face the audience, stepped onto those platform heels, and threw open arms with a flutter of fan hands to reveal a living, breathing drag queen that would dominate the stage. It was like bringing a NOLA Mardi Gras float to a neighborhood kids' parade. The audience cheered with approval.
