点评：We were incredibly fortunate to have Massimo as our tour guide inside the Colosseum, through the Roman Forum and to the Basilica of San Clemente (including the mint)- it was truly the highlight of our time in Rome and Italy. Massimo has a positive energy that is infectious, coupled with an extraordinary depth of knowledge and an outstanding ability to explain things in ways that are relatable and understandable- he really brings history to life and makes Ancient Rome come alive! No matter what complex questions we asked (I’m a history teacher), he answered with detail and we came away feeling like we had learned (and laughed) so much. His passion for history, sense of humour and excellent communication skills brings the past to life in such a vivid, engaging way. Massimo was able to interweave all the layers of Ancient Rome and help us see so clearly the change and continuity, the politics, the daily life, the gossip, the power, the mind-blowing marvels and all the hidden details that were genuinely fascinating. We had expressed interest in seeing some of the less common things and Massimo went out of his way to accommodate our requests, ensuring that we saw everything possible (his ability to navigate the crowds is a hidden superpower). We never felt rushed or bored (you will not find any boring monologues or parroted generic information here)- we were captivated and beyond thrilled for every second of time we had with him. We have travelled extensively and had many guides in many places- Massimo is truly exceptional. If you are looking for a guide who is passionate, warm, deeply knowledgeable and able to transform iconic sites or even ‘regular looking’ sites into unforgettable experiences, Massimo is your man. He is a master storyteller and will help you understand the soul of Rome. We cannot recommend him highly enough and cant wait to visit again.
