点评：We first became aware of Round Pond at a wine luncheon in Sarasota a year ago, where an owner hosted a delightful and inviting presentation of some of the Rutherford property's top wines. Invited to visit, we accepted, and this is our second year to exercise our wine club membership to taste several of their current selections. Round Pond stands out (along with Hall, Beringer, Three Sticks in Sonoma and a couple of others) as a champion of the wine tasting experience genre. They offer a number of experiences, including a full luncheon with wine pairing, varied tastings and a property tour. Their tasting room is large and magnificently appointed. Service from your wine hosts is knowledgeable and very attentive. A relatively wide selection of wines is available to sample and most tastings include a beautiful plate of cheese and deli selections. Their property is fun to tour on your own following the tasting, where you can walk among the gardens and vines and smell and feel the sense of Rutherford's superb terroir. If you're looking for a rich and personal wine (and perhaps, food) experience as opposed to a "fly by sampling" of Napa wines, this is a great choice.
