The resterante was very pleasant and the staff were lovely and very efficient.
My mother in law and myself found a couple of items in the sale. She bought some shoes and I have a cardigan a jumper and a plant.
When the teller scanned the garments one came out at £15 instead of £8, when I queried the price a supervisor was brought over to check the details.
The only way I could describe this person who represented the garden centre was crasse and rude.
She told me that the wrong sticker had been put on the cardigan and the look I got along with the attitude seem to insinuate I had put this sticker on.
She then proceeded to tell me in a loud voice for further embarresment that if I didn't want to buy the cardigan for £15 then she didn't have to sell it to me for the lower price.
I was made to feel like it was my fault the sticker label was wrong. This was a horrible experience and marred our day out.
So much so that due to this horrible person I will not be visiting the grosvenor garden centre again.
If this garden centre wants to keep their customers I would suggest giving this person some extensive training as to how to deal with customers. I have never come across such disgusting behaviour from a supervisor in a retail outlet, she definitely did not set a good example to junior staff.
I have since read a number of reveiws with similar circumstances and it seems that this is a common acurrance. I would further suggest that if you want yo discount goods the information is updated through the system to the tills. This would save any further embarrassing situations for any customers.
As this is a common occurrence I will be reporting this to trading standards.
