点评:I’ll preface this by saying I’m an experienced rider with over 17 years experience and a horse of my own at home. I’ve owned and ridden spirited/quirky horses before, both at home and abroad, yet before this experience I’ve never felt unsafe before.
There was no introduction to the horses in terms of their temperament or how they like to be ridden. My horse Mela (a Spanish grey) was bucking throughout the ride, whenever we went into trot but also in walk as well. This did become more like broncing at certain points. Most of the hack was on concrete making this even more unnerving. This continued to the point I only felt comfortable walking for the rest of the ride, so the guide took the other riders off while I stayed behind. The guide had offered for me to switch to his horse (a prancing youngster that he’d previously told us was still in training) or another lady’s stallion who’d been on edge and jogging the whole way around. When I informed him I did not feel comfortable continuing to trot or canter he said well you are clearly not experienced if you cannot sit on this horse. I reiterated the horse was bucking and this was nothing to do with my riding skill (as yes, I was able to stay on and handle it, but I did not want to as I’d been expecting a fun, safe sunset ride!). To question my skill instead of the horses behaviour was both rude, totally unprofessional and inaccurate. I even question whether this horse was fully sound?
Since reading through the reviews I can see a similar pattern of issues with this same horse, however the guide told me this horse is not known to buck. Yes, horses can be unpredictable, but there is a difference between an occasional buck from excitement, that is fair enough and easy to handle. This was repetitive. At one point the guide actually had to dismount and steady my horse as she was spinning and refusing to move onwards. Why would I pay €100 to come back with blisters on my hands?
I do not write this review to attack the company, but to warn other riders who are not looking for a feisty ride. The positives I can say are the horses seem well cared for, there’s plenty of opportunities for pictures and the scenery is beautiful. However, if you want a relaxing and enjoyable sunset experience, I’d recommend you look elsewhere.
