3 consecutive and excellent e-bike tours with Ciclofree

点评：In May/June 2026, we spent four weeks on a wonderful holiday in Sicily and went on three consecutive tours with Ciclofree. We were very satisfied with the organisation, the luggage transport and the e-bikes. The accommodation was also very good overall: some excellent hotels – for example, one with a swimming pool overlooking Mount Etna – lovely guesthouses and pleasant hotels; only a very few places weren’t quite as nice. We can highly recommend these three Ciclofree tours:
We arrived in Catania and spent some time exploring this beautiful city. We then took a taxi to Nicolosi, the starting point for the tour around Mount Etna. Unfortunately, there is only one bus a day to Rifugio Sapienza, the starting point for the cable car to the summit of Mount Etna, and this bus was already full from the moment it set off from Catania. The cycle route is a continuous 20 km uphill climb, and unfortunately we didn’t manage it on our e-bikes as we’d misjudged the battery capacity. But the bike ride that followed, around Mount Etna with its enchanting landscape, was truly beautiful and impressive.
We then took a taxi to the starting point of our second tour through the Baroque towns of the south-east. This tour was also absolutely brilliant and ended in Syracuse. From there, we made our own way by train to Messina, then on to Palermo, and from there to Castellammare for our third tour through the west. This tour was also very impressive and ended in Monreale, from where we travelled to Palermo Airport. A total of approx. 890 km cycled without any punctures.
