点评:The Merlion at Merlion Park is one of the most iconic spots in Singapore.
The Merlion has the head of a lion and the body of a fish. You can find imagery of the Merlion throughout the city. It is said that the prince who discovered the island saw a island, and then the fish represents the maritime roots and coastal location. The water spouting from its' mouth represents a continuous flow of wealth and prosperity for the country.
There are so many cute ideas and poses to take with the Merlion. I was planning a bunch of poses, brought my water bottle and umbrella as photo props, and we even came here early to avoid crowds... That's wishful thinking. There is a crowd here all times of the day. It was SO CROWDED, and the people coming here, probably tourists, were all so rude and inconsiderate. There's no waiting or getting in line, they shove their way in with no consideration. We were too polite to get a good shot.
It's beautiful but I actually like it better from afar than up close in the crowd. I understand it's a must-see visiting the city, but prepare your mindset for absolute chaos.
