Salkantay to Inka Trail 7 Day Trek!

点评：Coolest. Trek. Ever.
This tour was truly spectacular. Private for just me and my girlfriend because no one else signed up with similar dates. Doing Salkantay (the secret back way) to Inka Trail we had NO ONE on our trail days 2-3, and very few due to spacing on the Inka Trail as well. Sure it helped it was slow season but seriously spectacular. Stood on a glacier. Our guide Edwin Arrque was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, local culture, Machu Pichu, and Peruvian history. He was also very fun to hang out with! We ate together three meals a day and hiked together every day and wish I could spend more time with him! Truly made us feel at home and learn a lot.
Lucio and McKayla were our cooks… wow! Food was delicious classic Peruvian cuisine. I am flexitarian and they were very accommodating. Lucio taught us to fish using traditional methods and we caught 20 trout in the river! Had them for dinner was also delicious.
Whole team was very professional, from the horsemen to the porters, always on top of everything and kept us comfortable, while being fun to explore with. Wish I was doing this again soon!
Only complaint is SAM Travel could do with a more transparent price breakdown. Insists everyone is payed very well, but nowhere said how much. Then all but insisted we tip on top of already above average tour price. We are happy to tip and want everyone fairly compensated, but making these hidden costs more apparent ahead of time and having a price breakdown so we know where our money is going would be great!
Besides that seriously great trip. Well worth it. Request Edwin and Lucio if you can!
