点评:A typical country museum with no common theme running through the collection but interesting displays non the less of either things donated and local ‘finds’, links to notable people, local ‘war heroes and events. There was a fascinating display of ‘finds’ by a local metal ‘detectorist’ and an engaging audio and interactive ‘… I now invite you to open drawer number two to marvel at….’ with that. On another floor you can view little cleverly made figures from the stories of Charles Dickens. Swafham had links to the Egyptologist Howard Carter and there is a ‘nod’ to that on the ground floor. The staff were welcoming and friendly. My only gripe is that in my opinion the visit does not warrant a five pound entrance charge especially when you consider many much larger museums are free or by donation. It would be more reasonable to run the museum by donation or at least offer seniors a discount… say three pounds entry. Being on different levels, the museum in not wheelchair accessible.
