点评:We have been promising ourselves a visit to to this place for quite a while, and it did not disappoint. We parked at the Visitor Centre as the website stated, and went over to book our bus ticket up to the top. We had to wait 45 minutes for the next scheduled bus, which was understandable as it was really busy, so we returned to the Visitor Centre for a coffee. The bus takes around 15 minutes, and we were instructed to head into the tunnel which would take us to the famous Brass Elevator and up to the restaurant at Eagles Nest. The views were incredible, and we spent a long time up there. Our friends did the climb to the cross at the very top, something I couldn't do due to disability, but I didn't mind as I was entranced by the view. Finally we retreated back down to visit the Document Centre, a must for all visitors. Very modern centre with everything you would want to know about the acquisition, take over if you like, of the land, the houses, the bunkers below us which you could visit.
Would I go again.. yes, definitely.
From the disabled point of view, there were only 4 disabled parking spaces, and a cafe down by the bus departure point would have been perfect, saving me having to make my way up and back to the Visitor Centre.
I think someone in the Brass Elevator telling us the history ofthis lift would have been nice too. We had a man who said absolutely nothing, letting us all decide ourselves how many would get in. He remained behind his perspex screen and stayed silent the whole time.
