点评:The LOL Podcast Tour. This is not about the venue. The theatre itself is lovely, but the show was difficult to describe. I have honestly never seen anything like it, especially considering the high ticket price.
The format felt very unstructured almost like watching high school students perform an amateur skit show. Clearly the tween audience loved it, but as an adult paying for the tickets, it felt disappointing.
The main person my daughter wanted to see was Harper, and we were only told the day before that she would not be performing. For about 20 minutes of the two-hour show (which also started late), the hosts brought red-haired girls from the audience onto the stage to find a “lookalike Harper.” This felt more like filler than actual entertainment.
A large portion of the show involved throwing merchandise such as T-shirts into the audience. My daughter and her friend unfortunately missed out, while the girl sitting next to them caught three shirts and wasn’t sharing. Ironically, this made the unexpected Bible-style sermon at the end even more awkward. During the sermon the audience was told they were “broken” and that they could be baptised in the sea behind the venue, a message about humility that probably didn’t land with the girl proudly holding three shirts.
Overall, my daughter did enjoy the experience, which is important. But from a value-for-money perspective, I personally don’t think the show justified the ticket price.
