Belogorsk St. Nicholas Missionary Monastery的点评
点评：This beautiful complex really nestles in the middle of nowhere—about 100 kilometers from Perm' and 60 kilometres from Kungur. It's accessible by public transport, of course, but the best way to get there is by car. If you choose to hire a taxi, however, do book a return ride since it will be near to impossible to find a cab there.
The trip'd take a full day in any case. Try to start as early as possible, at least at 7AM, and you'll spend a day at ease and enjoy the road too: the scenery is gorgeous.
The monastery is well worth visiting. We did it in September. It crowns a green hill that offers marvellous panoramic views. Yes, the renovation works are still on, but visitors are allowed inside. The main cathedral was terribly mangled and desecrated in the dark times of the USSR, but the once demolished grandeur is mostly back today. The monks are friendly although no one speaks English (surprise, surprise!).
A nice place to spend a day. Sunny weather is a plus.
