点评:We only went because I came across it here. So glad I did as I learnt so much about diabetes. I never thought about it before (shame on me) what I might have meant to people prior to the invention of insulin.
We were given a tour with some other people. I wish the tour guide had been more successful in steering their endless stream of questions and comments which slowed everything down. Instead of 45 min it went more than 90 min. A long time to concentrate.
The guide shared with us what they knew. I would have liked to get to know something about the history of the disease and the discovery of the pancreas and sugar being the culprit. Or what the hypothesis was Banting came up with in that October night which was the start for his research in Toronto. It is not correct to say he invented insulin/a cure that night.
The guide did not seem to have knowledge in this area which is a pity considering we are here with Diabetes Canada. And a bit of internet research ...
Still - very much worth to go and visit.
