Matambu Indigenous Blue Zone tour apparently not happening anymore?

点评：We did 3 tours with this company over New Year's, and 2 of them were excellent. The final tour, the Matambu Indigenous Blue Zone tour, which is what we booked, ended up not being an option, but we did not know this. It was supposed to include a coffee plantation tour with a stop at an indigenous cultural center with a performance and some demonstrations. Right out of being picked up we were asked what town we wanted to see - Filadelfia or Porero - which really confused us. We asked our guide to choose which he thought was closer, and ended up driving a circle through a neighborhood in Filadelfia while our guide told us about traditional Costa Rican towns. We then drove through Santa Cruz, stopped at the rodeo stadium being built downtown and learned a little about that, before heading to Nicoya, where we looked at a beautiful old church. By now, we were 3 hours into what we thought was a 4 hour tour, and hadn't accomplished anything that had been described. We finally made it to the coffee plantation which was a great experience! Then we went to see one of the 25 people who are 100 years old or more and met a lovely gentleman. However, we were still very confused at the end of the visit as we were now 7 hours in with 4 children, had not thought to bring snacks since the tour was only supposed to be 4 hours, and did not get the indigenous cultural center experience we had been very much looking forward to. We did email Tour Guanacaste, and they said the changes occurred without their knowledge. Given they had contacted me earlier in the week about a turtle nesting tour suite change due to turtle activity, I believe them, and we DID have a nice tour, but missed out on what we really had hoped to see and weren't prepared for the length.
