点评：We did a sunrise photography tour of Monument Valley with Phillips Photography Tours. We were the only two people booked that morning, so it turned into a private tour. Leslie was our guide, and he got us through the rough terrain of the Valley like a pro. While he wasn't a photographer himself, except for his iPhone, he took us to some great locations to catch the sunrise and morning light. We've done photography tours in a lot of different locations and usually the guide is a photographer and we pick up different tips. We were kind of disappointed to not have a photographer guide for this, especially from an outfit that specializes in photography tours. There was one point where we were trying to catch the sunrise at the Totem Pole, and Leslie mentioned there was a good spot to catch a sunburst photo down the road. He just pointed in the general direction we should head. My husband set up his tripod in one spot, while I walked further down the road. There was another group nearby and I overheard their guide telling them where to be for the sunburst, by watching the movement of the shadow on the rocks. I ran back to where my husband was to tell him where to move to and he was able to pack up and shift to the right spot just in time. We had read other reviews about the guides providing tips on photography. I guess I should have requested someone specific to get that service. Leslie was good in pointing out locations and features to photograph, and even trekked through the sand dunes to show us a good spot to get the sand ripples in the morning light.
