Two spectacular days in the Usambara mountains

点评：We spent two days hiking in the Usambara Mountains and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The area is beautiful, with a mix of forests, viewpoints, farmland, and local villages. It feels very peaceful and bucolic.
One thing that struck me was the variety of landscapes. In some places, the pine and eucalyptus forests are so dense that you almost feel as if you are in a different country. At the same time, the villages, people, and atmosphere give the area a distinct character of its own.
We hiked with Samuel (+255 787 492 492), who is often mentioned in TripAdvisor reviews, and after spending two days with him it is easy to understand why. He is knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, from local culture and history to plants, animals, and everyday life in the region. What I appreciated most was his ability to answer questions thoughtfully and share interesting stories and local perspectives throughout the hike.
He was also very helpful beyond the trek itself. He assisted us with practical arrangements, including booking our bus and helping us find a hotel in Dar es Salaam, which made travelling to and from Lushoto much easier.
Overall, a very enjoyable hiking experience in a beautiful part of Tanzania.
