Awesome tour. Learned a lot more about Mr Haley.

点评：They say the tour guide makes all the difference. We had a wonderful experience due mostly in part to the Site Manager Mr. Richard Griffin. He was personable, knowledgeable and humorous.
We entered the welcome center on the property. A 15-minute introduction movie was shown about Mr Haley's life and work. The movie was very informative. After the movie we walked into the Interpretive Center to browse the displays. There's lots to read but there are artifacts and visuals too.
After viewing the Interspective Center we headed out of the back door towards Mr Haley's home for a guided tour. There are period pieces set up in the home just as it was originally. This experience couldn't truly be captured on camera but I tried. There was just too much to learn. Our guide did not disappoint. I highly recommend visiting.
Alex Haley's house is about an hour away from Memphis. We were determined to go, come rain or shine. Our driver was excellent. It rained hard, stormed, and there was a tornado watch on the way there but we went anyway. 🤷🏾♀️ When we got there, Mr Richard was fussing, "Are yall crazy?" for traveling in the bad weather. 😂😂
