A really nice village pub serving scrummy food.

点评：We have been twice now in the last couple of weeks. Our first time was for a meal on a Friday evening and yesterday for a Sunday lunch. It is a lovely little pub, certainly not pretentious but nevertheless inviting. The staff are realky nice, friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to find it having such a varied menu together with a specials board that catered for all sorts of taste. The food was nicely presented and exceedingly tasty. Turning specifically to the Sunday lunch, again we lived the choices available with also a specials board. I love a good Sunday roast and this certainly was. I had the roast beef with all the traditional trimmings - it was superb. I followed it with an apple crumble and custard which again was realky lovely. My wife is not a lover of roast dinners and more often than not looks for a fish dish as an alternative. She wasn't to be disappointed - skate wing was on the specials board and the old favourite of haddock and chips was on the lunchtime menu. She opted for the haddock and chips; her comment was it was really, really good with nicely cooked thin batter, moist and as good as any served by a good quality fish n chip shop. We certainly will be going back having now plotted the pub on our Radar.
