点评:The Yangtze River Cableway in Chongqing is just like our cable car in Singapore plying to and from Sentosa Island. Nothing really spectacular. It became operational in 1982 as a form of public transportation to facilitate the locals in crossing the Yangtze River. It has not become obsolete with the construction of bridges to link the two areas of the Yangtze River. Instead, it is now a tourist must visit attraction in Chongqing to appreciate the panoramic view of the sprawling cityscape against the backdrop of the mighty Yangtze River.
But I think it is a waste of time here. The visitors were so crowded, and we were squeezed like sardines into a cable car and our views were blocked and I could not even have a glimpse of the Yangtze River or the Chaotianmen Bridge as the cable car moved across the river. Time is also wasted in queuing for the ride.
Nevertheless, the ride is cheap at only a few dollars, and the night panoramic view is breathtaking with all the glittering and colourful lights switched on.
