The BEST Boat Tours of the Skellig Michael Islands!

点评：We were fortunate enough to experience the Skellig Michael boat tour in early October 2025. Our captain was Jay and he was AWESOME!! I'm no stranger to boating but I was blown away by his skills, navigating in and around the islands. Jay had mentioned that his family has been piloting boats in the area for a long time and it shows. My wife and I felt we were safe and in capable hands the entire time.
I also want to thank Jay for taking his time. While probably not the norm, we ended up spending nearly an extra hour on the tour because Jay made sure to give us plenty of time to allow us to photograph all the wildlife we saw and pointing out what our untrained eyes couldn't see -- and we saw so much! At least 50+ dolphins, some fin whales, seals, and lots of birds. Besides the animals, the islands themselves are breathtaking, make no doubt. We were left in awe by the views. For anyone visiting Ireland, if you don't visit the Skellig Michael Islands, you are missing out on one of Ireland's greatest national treasures.
All the while, Jay was making us laugh. He was just incredibly personable and made the tour that much better. This boat tour was an optional experience of a larger tour with Vagabond/Driftwood, and I was sure to thank all of them for making Skellig Michael Cruises part of the tour.
I should add that the cost was completely reasonable and the group size was small -- about 10 of us. Both were factors that we appreciated. So, thank you Jay (and your puffin!) and Skellig Michael Cruises. I hope to return one day and experience this again!
